CTE Drama

Drama Majors study Acting, Directing, Playwriting, Technical Theatre, Theatre History and Career Development for the Arts. The course sequence prepares them to complete all requirements for the Chancellor’s Endorsed Diploma with a Special Designation in Theatre. Because Drama is a Career and Technical Education program, Drama majors are also eligible for Work Based Learning opportunities which provide paid, professional internships for eligible juniors and seniors. Performance opportunities include the Fall Play, Spring Musical, and school wide Fall and Spring Concerts in our newly renovated state-of-the-art Broadway style auditorium. WBL Partners include: Roundabout Theatre Company, New York Theatre Workshop, Symphony Space’s Thalia Book Camp, CTE Industry Scholars, Vital Theatre, Bloomberg Arts & Culture, Broadway League Diversity Management Initiative, SteelDeck, Division of School Facilities and Symphony Space.
