Mission and Vision for the Clinical and Counseling Program
at Fordham High School for the Arts

At Fordham High School for the Arts, our Clinical and Counseling Program is deeply rooted in our mission to empower every student to reach their highest potential academically, socially, and emotionally and our vision of cultivating confident, resilient, and future-ready young adults prepared to thrive in college, careers, and life beyond.

Aligned with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model, our program embodies a comprehensive, student-centered, and data-driven approach that prioritizes equity and access for all learners. Through collaboration with students, families, educators, and the community, and in partnership with the FRNYC Strong Student Advising Program, we provide intentional and personalized advising to meet the unique needs of each student.

Our program advances this mission and vision by focusing on key goals that drive student success:

  • Enhancing student learning and reducing academic failure through targeted support and interventions

  • Fostering student self-regulation, resilience, and social-emotional growth to build lifelong skills

  • Expanding learning opportunities through innovative use of technology to broaden college and career pathways

  • Equipping students for seamless transitions from high school to college, career, and beyond

  • Supporting continuous professional development for educators to strengthen their capacity to nurture student potential

Guided by our community CORE values of Accountability, Resilience, Trust, and Service, our counseling program ensures every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to take ownership of their journey toward success.

Together, we commit to creating a school environment where students are prepared not just for graduation, but for meaningful, impactful futures.

Empowering every student to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally through equitable, personalized guidance and support.
